Make 34% More By Using AI and YOUR BRAIN

Upwork's new Future Workforce Index found that freelancers who pair AI with their own judgment earn 34% more per hour than the ones who don't. Freelancers doing plain, generic AI content work saw earnings fall 13% over the same stretch. That’s a 47% swing and the only difference is applying your expertise to the outputs not just taking the information and shipping it.

I think it’s clear by now that AI isn’t going to replace you. But, it looks like it WILL reprice you.

If your service is "I can produce a thing," the market is racing that price toward zero, because a computer can produce the thing too.

If your service is "I can produce a thing AND tell you whether it's the right thing, whether it'll work, whether it fits what you're actually trying to do," that's the work getting the raise.

This weekend, take a moment and consider the work you’re producing. Is it the output, or is it the judgment wrapped around the output? If a client could get most of what you make from a chatbot, you're selling output, and output gets cheaper every month.
